Swedish man charged after karate chop kills British tourist in Phuket

On February 2025, Alan Roger Jolliffe, 57, a British-Australian from Liverpool, died at Patong Hospital after being struck with a karate chop to the neck during a road rage incident on Bangla Road, Patong, Phuket. The suspect, Pektas Tuguy Tayyar, 29, from Sweden, was arrested at a hotel on February 27. Swedish media report he had a prior conviction for assault. Charged with assault causing death.
