13 arrested for selling drugs to tourists on Sukhumvit Road, Bangkok

Thai police arrested 13 people (2 Thai, 11 foreign nationals from West Africa) on January 17–19, 2025, for selling drugs to tourists along Sukhumvit Road in Bangkok's Phra Khanong district. Plainclothes officers posed as buyers. Seized: 61g cocaine, phones, cash. The group reportedly approached tourists on pavements offering cocaine or methamphetamine. Charged with possession of Type-2 narcotics with intent to sell. Part of a broader crackdown on drugs in Sukhumvit, Khaosan, and Patpong.
