Russian hacker wanted by FBI arrested in Phuket hotel

A 35-year-old Russian national wanted by the FBI for alleged cyber crimes was arrested at his hotel in Phuket on November 6, 2025. Thai Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) officers, acting on an FBI tip, detained the suspect after he entered Thailand on a flight to Phuket. Police seized laptops, mobile phones, and digital wallets. The suspect is allegedly linked to Void Blizzard, a cyber espionage group tied to Kremlin interests, accused of hacking US political organizations and government agencies. He is held in Bangkok pending extradition to the United States.
