Deputy Transport Minister Siripong Angkasakulkiat has defended the government's plan to convert public-service vehicles to electric vehicles (EVs), saying the scheme could cut oil consumption by an estimated 212 million litres a year while reducing transport costs and dependence on imported fuel.
