Four Russians arrested in Phuket: 8Base ransomware gang busted

On February 10, 2025, Thai police with Swiss and US authorities arrested four Russian nationals (27–39) in Phuket for running the 8Base ransomware group. Raids took place in villas in Muang and Thalang. The group targeted 17 Swiss companies and 1,000+ victims worldwide, causing $16M in damages. Leaders Roman Berezhnoy (33) and Egor Glebov (39) face US charges. Over 40 devices seized, 100+ servers disabled, dark web portal seized. Extradition to Switzerland and USA pending.
